This web log (blog) will provide family and friends of St. John United Methodist Church a "window" into our mission trips to the Dominican Republic.

Working hard - Construction and Team Building
Sorry for the few days of no communication, as we've been very busy with construction and other events.
As always, it's always great to grow closer to the other members of the team. Both those that you know and those and you're getting to know.
We've spent our days working at the Central Church (the same place we're staying). Tieing rebar, un-tieing rebar, and tearing down a wall have been the order of the days.
Yesterday (Thursday) we visited a feeding center to help with lunch. It's always a moving experience feeding the kids. After lunch, we played with the kids in the area. They always enjoy when they get visitors.
Last night, we had the pleasure of attending the first wedding in the Central Church. (more on that later)
Thanks for the continued prayers.

The Blue Shirts have invaded Miami Airport...
The team has reassembled here in Miami. We're busy catching up and sharing stories of the days travel. We will be arriving in Santiago later this evening with a busy week ahead of us. One can only imagine what God has in store for this group. We can't wait!!
I think back to the "Baker's Dozen" and our first trip down and the good memories keep coming back.

The last group is checked in and have gathered at the gate. A fun site seeing all the G.O. Ministries shirts.

Are you ready?
After a wonderful Easter Sunday at St. John, the team has one more day of making those final preparations before leaving tomorrow for our week in the mission field. Please stay tuned to both this page and to St. John's Facebook page, as we'll have updates and pictures throughout our trip.
God Bless and thanks for all the support!
